Lovable alternatives in 2026: an honest comparison
Lovable made "describe it and get an app" mainstream, and it deserves the credit. It is also not the right tool for everyone. This is a comparison written by the people behind Malpera, so read it with that in mind — we have tried to keep every claim checkable and to say where competitors are stronger.
What the tools have in common
Lovable, Bolt.new, Vercel's v0, Hostinger Horizons and Malpera all take a text request and produce a working React web app with a live preview, chat-based edits and one-click publishing. All of them can connect a database and sign-in. Prices are credit- or token-based, with a free tier.
Where they differ
Who the tool is for
Lovable and Bolt sit closest to developers: GitHub sync, code editing in the browser, integrations you wire yourself. If you are comfortable reading code, that flexibility is a real advantage.
v0 is strongest at UI components and front-end design, especially if you deploy on Vercel.
Hostinger Horizons targets non-technical users, bundled with Hostinger hosting.
Malpera targets owners who will never open the code: the goal is a finished, tested app rather than a starting point. The trade-off is less knobs — you cannot (yet) edit code line by line in the browser; you download the source if you want to.
Finished vs. started
The most important question is what "done" means. On Malpera every build ends with the tool compiling the project, opening it in a browser, clicking through the pages, running the server functions it wrote and probing the privacy rules with test accounts that should be blocked. If something is broken, it is fixed before you see it. Other tools show you the result faster and leave the testing to you; for a developer that is fine, for a shop owner it usually is not.
Privacy and business rules
A recurring failure in AI-built apps is "hidden on screen, reachable through the data API": the list is filtered in the browser, but the database returns everyone's rows. Malpera enforces who may see and change what in the database (row-level security) and verifies it before publishing; prices and stock are checked on the server. Lovable and Bolt can do all of this too, but you (or your prompt) have to ask for it and check it.
Pricing (at the time of writing, late October 2026)
- Lovable: free tier with a small daily allowance, Pro from about $25 per month for 100 credits; one message is roughly one credit regardless of size.
- Bolt: free tier, Pro from about $25 per month measured in tokens.
- Malpera: 200 welcome credits once, Starter €19 per month (1,500 credits) and Pro €49 per month; credits follow the real AI cost of each request, so a small edit costs a few credits and a full app a few hundred. If a request fails because of us, it is not charged.
Which is cheaper depends on how you work: many small edits favour per-cost billing; a few large builds favour per-message billing.
Languages
Lovable, Bolt and v0 are English interfaces. Hostinger accepts prompts in many languages. Malpera's whole interface, e-mails and legal texts are available in English, Turkish, German, Spanish, French, Portuguese and Japanese, and the generated site is written in the language you use.
Hosting and ownership
All five publish for you. Malpera and Hostinger include hosting, SSL, a visit counter and backups; Lovable and Bolt publish to their own hosting with options to export. Every tool here lets you download or sync the code; check how easy it is to run elsewhere before you commit.
Who should choose what
- You are a developer who wants a fast start and full control: Lovable or Bolt.
- You mainly need polished UI for an existing Next.js project: v0.
- You want hosting and the builder in one bill and already use Hostinger: Horizons.
- You will not touch code, you need sign-in, data, bookings or payments, and you want it tested and private by default: Malpera.
Try two of them with the same request. The free tiers are enough to see the difference in an afternoon.
